Originally from Northern Ireland, Avril Lyons trained in Belfast and then moved to Shefield in the UK where she worked for many years in community arts before returning full-time to her studio twelve years ago. Working with oil and palette knife, she captures the ephemeral nature of light, weather and season on the Irish landscape.
