Hammond has a curatorial background that includes the Smithsonian and the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art, and is committed to the highest standards of presentation in her new gallery space in the village centre. “

In his August 6, 2004 review, Mark Ewart wrote “Although the newly established Catherine Hammond Gallery, in Glengarriff, may be somewhat isolated from large towns and cities, the exhibition space is as sophisticated as any other in the country.”
