Frances Ryan makes paintings of exceptional power that connect to the natural world, memory, the passing of time, and constant change. She often uses collage and photo-transfers with oil paint to create layers that both reveal and hide. Originally from Longford, Ireland, she is now based in County Down, Northern Ireland. Ryan has shown extensively throughout Ireland and her work is in important public and private collections.
