Jacqueline Stanley was born in 1928 in London and studied at Beckenham College of Art and the Royal College of Art, London. A prolific painter and printmaker, her early work documented a rapidly changing London, before becoming primarily concerned with landscape. She has been living and working in Ireland since 1975 where she has influenced many young artists. In 2018 she was elected an Honorary Royal Hibernian Academician.
