Mollie Douthit’s oil paintings are small, both in scale and in subject matter. Their intensity of gaze, however, is large, and as a result, they are hugely contemplative pieces. Single or small groups of ordinary objects take on an satisfying importance.
Douthit is currently a Resident Teaching Fellow at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare where she completed an MFA in 2014. Her practice and exhibition schedule is split between Ireland and the United States.
