Stephen Lawlor’s paintings explore in abstract terms the work of older art in museums, to discover the relevance of celebrated masterpieces in contemporary terms. Based in Dublin, Lawlor is known as both a painter and a printmaker and was Chairman of Graphic Studio Dublin from 2001-05. He is regarded as one of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists and his works form part of numerous public, private and corporate collections.
